Sukau Rainforest Lodge – Borneo, Malaysia

We had the pleasure of spending a few nights at the Sukau Rainforest Lodge.  We had a wonderful time at the lodge and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Borneo, our one caution – it isn’t easy to get there.  We had to fly into Kota Kinabalu, spend the night and then fly to Sandakan, then hop on a bus to the shore followed by a 2 hour boat ride to get the the lodge.

The lodge is beautiful and is situated right on the river.  It was incredible to eat our meals, which were delicious, while looking into the natural jungle.  Each day we went out on the river to watch for wildlife which included several monkey species, alligators, pygmy elephants and a wild orangu-tan.

If you are looking for a little luxury in the wilderness, some adventure and amazing food, then the Sukau Rainforest Lodge might be the place for you!
